Dani Marano’s collages explore the hand-touched and analogue process of collecting, curating, layering and scanning, to create vivid and surreal scenes. Her works are both at once familiar and unexpected, exploring the relationship between everyday symbols, clashing textures, and the beauty of natural elements.

Dani is moved by rich natural beauty, baroque design, the nostalgia of the Italian countryside, film photography, and evocative interiors. The reflections of these concepts appear vividly in Dani's work, asking the viewer to interpret possible stories of drama, love, history and indulgence.

Each work is meticulously built, sometimes over weeks, in Dani’s quiet home in Regional Victoria, where she grows food, raises chickens, and walks along the creek. Dani is inspired by the analogue nature of slowly building her works, as it sits in tune with the rich environment around her.
